Endowed Scholarships
Background Since 1960, the members of the Foundation have supported the Paper Science and Engineering Program through annual contributions. These gifts in turn have been used to a very large extent to fund student scholarships each year. An endowment fund was established in the mid-1980's to meet the growing needs of the department and to provide a more stable financial position for the Foundation. Today, proceeds from the permanently endowed funds provide one half the annual student scholarship distributions. In the future, our goal is to fund all of the student scholarships from endowments.
Named Endowed Scholarships A Named Endowed Scholarship can be created with a minimum contribution of $25,000, which can be given at one time or in a series of payments over 3 to 5 years, and can be named as the donor designates. Special conditions may be applied provided the awardees meet all Foundation and Miami University requirements. The donor or a designated representative may present the scholarship award during the Foundation's Annual Meeting.
The Miami University Paper Science and Engineering Foundation is sincerely grateful to the companies and individuals who have contributed to Named Endowed Scholarships.
